bio
J.P. Chan is a self-taught filmmaker and playwright living in Brooklyn, whose short films have screened at film festivals in the US and Canada. His plays have had productions and readings by Desipina, Ma-Yi, Peeling, Raw Impressions, Queens Theatre in the Park, and Chicago Dramatists. He is also a member of the Ma-Yi Writers Lab and the Dramatists Guild. He received a graduates degree in urban planning from NYU and was born in New Jersey to working class immigrant parents.
