Jerome Sable is an emerging filmmaker in the Graduate Directing Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Jerome's creative career includes being the "Sable" of "Sable & Batalion," a musical comedy duo he formed with childhood friend and longtime collaborator Eli Batalion in 1993. To date, Sable & Batalion have toured over 20 cities worldwide with their award-winning musical theatre shows, hailed by the L.A. Times as "groundbreaking."
Jerome received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy with honors from Brown University and has devoted his life to surprising people who say you can't get a job with such a degree. Over the years he has been a lifeguard, a birthday magician, a Hebrew teacher, and a radio DJ in Beijing, China, all before finally settling on filmmaker. In his career so far at USC, Jerome has written and directed sixteen short films, from suspense-thrillers to dramas to documentaries and musical comedies. He is the recipient of the Avid Academic Scholarship, the School of Cinematic Arts Scholarship and the Harold Lloyd Memorial Scholarship and the winner of the 2009 Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmakers Award.
